Advertisements will start to appear during shows and movies for indian amazon Prime Video users in 2025. According to amazon, this adjustment is required in order to keep making content investments. This choice comes after their U.S. subscription model was recently updated. amazon said they will display "limited advertisements," although they did not say what kinds of ads would be displayed. The firm wants to offer less advertisements than its rivals. In India, no streaming service currently displays advertisements to paying customers.

Amazon Prime Video has solely provided ad-free watching, but websites like ZEE5 and Disney+ Hotstar provide a freemium model with advertisements for free content. Additionally, amazon offers free streaming via its miniTV platform, which was just renamed amazon MX Player.

A vast selection of films and television series, including well-known original productions like panchayat and Mirzapur, are available to Prime members. Additionally, they offer a Prime Lite subscription, which is less expensive but has poorer video quality and advertisements. amazon stated that it will not increase the cost of Prime memberships in 2025, but it will launch a new ad-free alternative; specifics will be revealed later.

They promised to notify users in advance when advertisements will be introduced and how to sign up for the ad-free alternative if they so wished. There will be no changes to the Prime Lite subscription.
