Reportedly bharatiya janata party (BJP) on saturday released its second list of 22 candidates for the upcoming maharashtra legislative assembly elections. In its first list, the party had announced the names of 99 candidates. In the second list, the party replaced sitting MLAs of Washim and Gadchiroli while retaining the MLAs of Akot, Nashik Central, Pen, Khadakwasala, pune Cantonment and Ulhasnagar. The second list also featured two members of the legislative council, Gopichand Padalkar was fielded from Jat and Ramesh Karad from Latur Rural where he would take on Congress’ Dhiraj Deshmukh.
Perhaps the saffron party, a member of the ruling Mahayuti coalition along with the shiv sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and NCP, has declared candidates for 121 constituencies so far. The alliance is yet to finalise seat-sharing details. The party has so far named 121 candidates for the upcoming polls. In its previous list, bjp named Shrijaya Chavan, daughter of congress veteran ashok chavan (who joined bjp in February) from Bhokar. deputy chief minister devendra fadnavis is slated to contest from nagpur Dakshin and maharashtra state unit president Chandrashekhar Bawankule was named from Kamthi.
