Reportedly maharashtra chief minister (CM) Eknath Shinde’s initiative ‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ or ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ has won the prestigious SKOCH Award for excellence in governance. The recognition highlights Maharashtra’s commitment to delivering efficient public services and sets a new standard for citizen-focused governance models in India. The program was chosen from among 280 projects across various categories nationwide, underscoring the impact and effectiveness of Maharashtra’s model. The jury highlighted how the initiative has successfully brought essential government services directly to citizens, earning widespread praise for its efficiency and accessibility.

Meanwhile Shinde said “The Mahayuti government is a government for common people. government schemes should reach the last section of society, and people shouldn’t need to visit government offices. Rather, the government should come to their doorstep. With this goal, we launched the ‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ initiative, which has received appreciation nationwide. Over five crore citizens have benefitted from this scheme. It is a matter of pride that this initiative has been recognised at the national level”.

Moreover this scheme was launched under the CM’s public welfare department, ‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ was designed to ensure that the benefits of various government schemes reach the most underserved communities, particularly those in remote areas. Through this program, essential services have been streamlined, removing bureaucratic barriers and providing direct access to government assistance. Over the past year, the initiative has reached over five crore citizens across maharashtra, delivering benefits directly to their doorsteps and significantly enhancing their quality of life.
