The Telecom Regulatory Authority of india has introduced a new rule. Accordingly, it has announced that OTP text messages will no longer be received, which has caused shock among users. We are constantly advancing in the knowledge, technology, and science of the modern world. Every day new technologies are invented and people are using them. Some security arrangements are made so that no one can cheat using it. In this situation, a one-time password known as OTP is mainly used for online transactions. Accordingly, now OTP is considered a secure feature for banking transactions, shopping on Amazon, telecom services, and booking a taxi.
This OTP service is mandatory to ensure that the appropriate service goes only to the specified person, whose information and transactions are secure. In this situation, the telecom company said that there would be a problem in getting this OTP service from november 1, which has caused shock among the users. Last August, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of india (TRAI) introduced a new Accordingly, rule, designed to prevent online fraud, which will require TRAI to monitor all OTP SMS messages. Such tracked OTPs will be intercepted if they come to users from unauthorized entities. This system sends these OTPs to users through telemarketing while OTP is secure and reliable for everything including bank transactions, delivery updates, and money transfer alert messages, where users cannot see those OTP numbers. In this case, the telemarketing companies are not authorized by the bank and their messages are blocked. In this situation, there is a possibility that these OTP services will be affected due to the association with jio, airtel, and vodafone Idea and there has been a demand to extend the deadline for this.
