Ryan Coogler, the director of Black Panther, was unjustly accused of attempting to steal the bank of America when he only wanted to take money out of his own account. This was a shocking and regrettable development.

According to body cam evidence, Coogler was arrested by the Atlanta police after being mistaken for a bank robber."I told the officers who arrested me, who had their glocks out, that I was taking money out of my own account," Coogler says in the video after being released from the shackles.

As a result of this occurrence, bank of America publicly apologized to Coogler. The ineptitude of the bank drew harsh criticism.

What led to Black Panther director Ryan Coogler’s arrest?

Coogler was held and arrested while in georgia for the production of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the follow-up to the 2018 blockbuster Black Panther, after he went to the bank of America to take out cash. The director, clad in a helmet, COVID mask, and sunglasses, approached the counter and gave the teller a letter that said, "I would like to withdraw $12,000 cash from my checking account," according to the Atlanta police report. Does the money count someplace else, please? I want to keep quiet.

But after reading the memo, the teller became suspicious and thought the whole thing was a robbery. Additionally, Coogler's account sent out an alert warning since the transaction totaled more than $10,000.

After telling her management, the teller decided it would be best to notify the police, so she dialed 911. Two of Coogler's coworkers were waiting for him outside the bank in the car with the engine running when four Atlanta police Department officers came and took them into custody.

Bank of America issued a formal apology to Coogler
After the incident, bank of America publicly apologized to Coogler. One of the representatives of the bank told CBS news, “We deeply regret that this incident occurred. It never should have happened and we have apologized to Mr. Coogler."

They provided Coogler's identity and clothing to the police. The police believed him to be the robber since this fits the teller's description of the accused thief.

Following the arrest of the coworkers at the rear of the police vehicle, two policemen arrested Coogler and escorted him out of the bank. He was heard telling the cops, when he was restrained against the vehicle,
