'The Lancet Planetary health Journal' has studied how many deaths are caused due to air pollution in ten cities in the country. It studied 36 lakh deaths between 2008 and 2019. It has been revealed that 1567 people die every year. The pollution during diwali is more extreme as compared to normal days. According to PCB statistics, the PM 2.5 level during normal time is 35-55 micrograms per cubic meter of air, but it increases to 55-105 micrograms during Diwali.
