Reportedly prime minister Narendra Modi on thursday lauded jawans stationed at Indo-Pakistan border in Gujarat’s Kachchh, where he celebrated diwali with the armed forces. He said because of their vigil, no one has the courage to look towards this region. Modi, who joined BSF, army, navy and air force personnel at Lakki Nala’s Sir Creek area, stressed that the BJP-led central government will never compromise with even an inch of India’s territory. “There is such a government in this country that cannot compromise with even an inch of the country’s land," he said.
Meanwhile he said this is why the Centre’s policies are aligned with the resolve of the armed forces. “We don’t depend on words of our enemies, we believe in strength of our army for defending the country. When the world sees you, it sees India’s strength, when enemies see you, they see an end to their sinister plans," he added. The prime minister told the soldiers that serving the nation is good fortune and they were doing this despite the fact that such service is not easy. “Whenever I celebrate my diwali with you all, my joy increases several times. This time, diwali is special as Lord ram has returned to his abode in ayodhya after 500 years," he said, adding, “people of india feel their country is safe because of you."
Moreover he said the government was doing everything to equip the armed forces with modern warfare technology, so as to put it in the league of the world’s most advanced militaries. He added that the basis of this was self-reliance in the defence sector. He added “Keeping in mind the needs of the 21st century, today we are equipping our armies, our security forces, with modern resources. We are putting our army in the league of the world’s most modern military forces. The basis of these efforts of ours is self-reliance in the defence sector.
