According to reports, Facebook's parent company, Meta, has now made the decision to develop its own AI-powered search engine in order to rival google and microsoft Bing. Sources claim that the goal of this action is to lessen consumers' reliance on other search engines like Google.

Although Meta AI was previously an AI chatbot on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, the business has now chosen to expand its functionality to include search. It is anticipated that the new AI-powered search engine would respond to a variety of user queries with current information in a conversational manner. The search engine is supposed to be powered mostly by meta AI.

Additionally, Meta and Reuters have inked a multi-year agreement that gives Meta's AI access to the news organization's information, improving the chatbot's accuracy in terms of news. In preparation for possible future competition from google Maps, Meta is also making large investments to create and improve a thorough location database.

A search engine prototype was recently seen online, providing a sneak peek at the possible improvements in search capability, even if Meta has not yet made an official declaration on the subject. Meta appears to be following in the footsteps of other well-known tech firms like OpenAI, which has been developing its own AI-powered search engine called "SearchGPT."
