On Monday, prime minister Narendra Modi denounced the recent "deliberate attack" on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Ontario, canada, and urged the local authorities to protect the rule of law and provide justice. The prime minister also denounced the "cowardly attempts" to intimidate indian diplomats stationed in canada in a post on X.
 
"I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. Equally appalling are the cowardly attempts to intimidate our diplomats. Such acts of violence will never weaken India's resolve. We expect the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law," the prime minister said in a post on X.

This is the first time that prime minister Modi has publicly denounced the violence that pro-Khalistani activists in canada are doing against Indians.
 
The statements were made just hours after the indian government "condemns acts of violence perpetrated by extremists and separatists" and urged the Canadian government, led by Justin Trudeau, to guarantee that all houses of worship are sufficiently safeguarded.
 
"We urge the Canadian government to make sure that all houses of worship are safe from these kinds of assaults. Speaking during a news conference, Randir Jaiswal, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), stated, "We also expect that those engaging in violence will be prosecuted."
 
Unverified footage that went viral on social media showed protesters brandishing banners in support of Khalistan, and protesters with Khalistani flags clashing with individuals inside the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton. Additionally, there were recordings of fistfights and flagpole-throwing altercations on what looked to be the grounds of the Hindu Sabha Mandir.
 
Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau also condemned the event, stating that everyone in canada has the basic right to freely and securely exercise their religion.
 
"The acts of violence at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton today are unacceptable. Every Canadian has the right to practice their faith freely and safely. Thank you to the Peel Regional police for swiftly responding to protect the community and investigate this incident," Trudeau said in a post on X.
