Controversy about caste in Amaran movie..!?

After the recent release of the movie Amaran which has been well received by the people, director Rajkumar Periyasamy has spoken about the controversy surrounding the movie. Amaran is a film based on the 2014 Pulwama attack that rocked India. Based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, the film starred sai pallavi opposite Sivakarthikeyan. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the film was produced by Kamal Haasan's Rajkamal Internationals. As the movie Amaran is running successfully in theatres, a thanksgiving meeting is being held at Nakshatra Hotel in MRC Nagar, Chennai. Rajkumar Periyasamy said, “I express my gratitude to Major Mukund Varadarajan and his family. A movie based on the true story of Amaran. It is a genre in cinema. In that sense, the fact that this film has reached people and has become such a success is beyond happy and moving. This victory gives me great confidence. It seems to take new initiatives one after the other,” he said. He continued, “While negotiating with Major Mukund Varadarajan's family to make this story into a film, Mukund Varadarajan's wife made a request to me. Mukund was proud to be a Tamilian. She requested that Mukund's character be acted by a Tamilian in this movie and that way Sivakarthikeyan is a Tamil. I express my gratitude to him for acting in this film.

Major Mukund Varadarajan is said to belong to a certain upper caste. But Amaran has no such symbols. He was shown calling his father "Naina" in the film. One person who belongs to that particular upper caste who saw this asked why Mukund's caste is not shown in this movie. It became a controversy. director Rajkumar Periasamy has given a clear answer to this. “His parents said Mukund Varadarajan wanted to identify himself only as an Indian. A film about the memory of a soldier. For this movie, we can't look at what community he belongs to. The film Amaran will be a tribute to the outstanding work and sacrifice of the Ashoka Chakra awardee," he said.
Actress sai pallavi on stage;
She said, "If you see other films, everyone will say that it is good. After watching this film, everyone hugged me and that is the biggest success. I am happy to see that I have played a role in this film and it is a blessing."

Actor Sivakarthikeyan speaking,

“When I heard this story for the first time, I knew Amaran would be a hit. I am looking forward to the moment when Kamal sir will come to town and hug me and praise me. Talking to me over the phone, Kamal sir said to tell everyone that the movie is running successfully and I am very happy. He continued, "Rajkumar Periyaswamy works like a ghost and never sleeps. I think it's been over three years since he slept properly. I have no intention of doing record-breaking films, I feel very privileged and happy to be doing this film.

I think the Amaran movie in tamil will get sai pallavi a good name like the Malar Teacher in the premam movie. It was a pleasure to work with Sai Pallavi.” "Thank you very much to the Mukund Varadarajan family for giving me the opportunity to make this film," he said.
Sivakarthikeyan continued, "Mukund sir and father have many similarities. Dad said that he would come to town like this. The next day when I came to college, there was a crowd at home. I learned that my father had died. While completing the ritual I saw my father's bones. Not only my father's bones were broken, but also my mind as a 17-year-old boy. At the climax of this film, our mother bought a medal from the president. I saw my father through this film. There is a similarity between Mukund Varadarajan's life and my father's. Amaran has given me a chance to see my father again." “For the last 21 years, I have been living with the memories of my father. He is my first hero who wears a police uniform and looks like a hero. I wanted to be like my father in this film," he said.
