Start of Trump's second term as president with these "firsts"!!!

Donald Trump was reelected as the 47th President of the United States, a position he had lost to Joe Biden four years prior. Also, the 78-year-old Republican will start his second term with a number of firsts after defeating Democratic presidential nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris. They are:

(1.) Since Grover Cleveland in the late 1890s, trump will be the first incumbent to serve two non-consecutive terms when he takes office in January. From 1885 to 1889 and 1893 to 1897, respectively, Cleveland served as the 22nd and 24th president. From 2016 to 2020, the former served as Commander-in-Chief.

(2.) He is the first Republican to surpass his opponent in the number of popular votes in 20 years. In 2004, George W. Bush defeated john Kerry of the Democratic party with 62,040,610 popular votes, and 286 electoral votes (59,028,444 and 251 respectively).

3.) During his tenure, he will be the first President in US history to be subject to impeachment proceedings. But in both occasions, the Senate cleared him on all counts.

Trump was originally impeached in 2019 on charges that he had secretly sought assistance from ukraine to increase his prospects of winning reelection. The second occurred one week after his supporters' rioting at the US Capitol on january 13, 2021.

(4.) trump will be the first president to serve while under indictment after being found guilty on 34 felony counts in May. On november 26, he will be sentenced.

The Republican leader was convicted of forging company records pertaining to the payment of hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels in an attempt to purchase her silence on their alleged liaison.
