On november 9, 2024, renowned tamil actor delhi Ganesh, who was praised for his versatility and memorable supporting parts, died at the age of 80. Late at night, the seasoned actor passed away from health issues, leaving a profound hole in tamil cinema. "We deeply regret to inform that our father, Mr. delhi Ganesh, passed away on november 9 around 11 PM," his family said in confirmation of the tragic news. At his home in Ramapuram, Chennai, where friends, family, and fans are congregating to offer their final condolences, delhi Ganesh's body will rest in peace. On november 11, his burial ceremonies will be held.

Ganesh's remarkable career, which spanned more than 40 years, saw him feature in over 400 films, solidifying his status as one of tamil cinema's most adored character actors. He was renowned for his unparalleled versatility, effortlessly transitioning from comedic to dramatic, antagonistic to benevolent roles. He shared the screen with industry legends such as Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Ganesh's film career started in 1976 with his first appearance in "Pattina Pravesam," directed by the legendary K. Balachander, who also gave him the stage name "Delhi Ganesh." He played a brief lead in "Engamma Maharani" in 1981, but it was his memorable supporting parts that made him famous.

Later in his career, Ganesh continued to enchant audiences with his unique gift by branching out into television and short films.

He gained recognition for his brief appearance in the 2016 thriller "Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru" and made a noteworthy cameo as alfred Pennyworth in the short film "What If Batman Was from Chennai" in recent years. In addition to his extensive artistic background, Ganesh was a well-known member of the Dakshina Bharata Nataka Sabha, a theater company based in Delhi.
