Meat and alcohol served at UK PM's diwali party...?

Meat and alcohol were allegedly served at the diwali party organized by UK prime minister Keir Starmer at 10, Downing Street. Due to this, british Hindus got angry. Community leaders and top politicians participated in the diwali celebrations held at the Prime Minister's official residence. Diyas were lit in the program, kuchipudi dance was organized and PM Starmer also gave a speech.

However, during the diwali program, some british Hindus expressed surprise when they learned that the dinner menu included alcohol and non-vegetarian dishes. According to the report, lamb kebabs, beer and wine were served to the guests. On this, British Hindu Pandit Satish K Sharma accused the Prime Minister's office of lack of sensitivity.

Expressed displeasure by posting a video

Satish K Sharma posted a video on X and said that for the last about 14 years, diwali celebrations are celebrated without meat and alcohol at 10 Downing Street. I am disappointed and quite shocked that this year's celebration included meat. It is a tragedy how the Prime Minister's advisers can be so careless.

Rishi Sunak's diwali party

An online post said the menu selection shows an appalling lack of understanding or respect for the religious traditions associated with diwali, urging greater consideration of future events. However, there has been no response from the Prime Minister's office at 10 Downing Street on the matter so far. Last year, when Rishi Sunak hosted a diwali celebration, meat and alcohol were not on the menu.
