A massive security operation is going on in at least three places in Baramulla, srinagar and Kishtwar districts in kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>jammu and kashmir since saturday (9 november 2024) evening. While three encounters took place in the kashmir Valley in 48 hours, four army personnel were injured in the ongoing encounter in Kishtwar area of Chenab Valley in Jammu region, three of whom are in critical condition. The search operation continued in Sopore area of Baramulla on sunday (10 november 2024).
Rakesh Kumar of 2 Para Special Forces was martyred during an encounter in Kishtwar. Three other soldiers were injured in the operation and their condition is said to be stable. Security forces in srinagar are conducting a massive operation in the upper reaches of the Zabarwan hills adjoining the eastern border of the city, at least three terrorists are believed to be trapped.
Firing lasted for 45 minutes
Senior security officials have said that they have confirmed the sighting of at least three armed men in Ishbar village in Nishat area of Srinagar. Security forces said that heavy firing and explosions took place in the area at around 9 am, which continued for about 45 minutes. But no casualties have been reported so far. However, two locals who were trekking in the area were rescued by the police.
In another encounter in Chas area of Kishtwar district on sunday morning, four soldiers of the indian army Special Forces were injured and admitted to the hospital. The condition of at least three soldiers is said to be critical. Earlier, Kishtwar police had confirmed the encounter and said that a group of 3-4 terrorists was trapped in the area and this group was responsible for the killing of two defense guards of the village on Friday.
Third encounter in North kashmir in last 3 days
A massive search operation is being carried out in Rampura area of Sopore to nab at least two terrorists who managed to escape by dodging the security forces on saturday night. So far one unidentified terrorist has been killed in the operation and a huge quantity of arms and ammunition has been recovered. This is the third encounter in North kashmir in the last three days. On Friday, one terrorist was killed in an encounter in Bandipora, while two Pakistani terrorists were killed in Sagipora area of Sopore.
