Reportedly as the winter approaches, preparations have begun at Ayodhya’s ram Janmabhoomi temple to keep ram Lalla cosy, warm, and comfortable with woollen clothes and prasad bhog at his abode. Starting november 20, on the occasion of ‘Aghan Panchami’, the revered deity would don quilts, pashmina shawls and custom designed winter attire created by delhi based designers. The winter attire of Lord ram Lalla be flown to ayodhya throughout the cold months. In addition, yogurt offerings to ram Lalla will be replaced with rabri-kheer, and, dry fruits given the change in weather.
Meanwhile the Chief Priest acharya Satyendra Das noted that Aghan ki Panchami is a significant day in Hindu tradition. He said “Beginning that day, yogurt offerings to the deity will be stopped, and rabri-kheer will be offered along with dry fruits”. With the onset of winter, ram Lalla would be given a bath with lukewarm water. Further heaters would be installed in the sanctum sanctorum to maintain a warm ambience. A warm air blower has would also be installed for the extreme winter days for the deity.
Moreover spokesperson of Shri ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Omkaar Singh told the national daily that the deity, depicted in a child form, will be dressed in garments that reflect his status as a prince. The winter preparations also include the idols of his three brothers and Lord Hanuman, who reside in the ram darbar on the first floor of the temple. The pran pratishtha of the 51 inch tall idol of Lord ram Lalla, crafted by famed sculptor Arun Yogiraj, in the newly built grand ram Janmabhoomi temple took place on january 22, this year, among around 8,000 VVIPS belonging to all sects of life.
