The recruiting practices of indian and American tech companies for H-1B visas differ greatly. Companies in the US have had a huge upswing, while their indian rivals are at the other extreme. Due to a shortage of experienced personnel in AI and cloud computing, American corporations are increasingly sourcing expertise from India. Because of this, companies like Google, Amazon, and Meta have become increasingly dependent on employing H-1B workers, a practice that has increased by 189% over the past eight years.

However, indian IT companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and HCL have cut back on these hires by half. These businesses are concentrating more on employing Americans and providing Green Cards to seasoned staff as their US operations expand. The tide could quickly turn if trump were to return to power. H-1B renewals were more challenging during his last stint at the office, and visa costs skyrocketed, which increased anxiety among indian workers in the US.

This time, it might become worse and will probably make it much harder for the US to hire foreign expertise. Tech companies will either need to change or struggle to find qualified employees. Stay tuned for more updates.
