Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, an indian filmmaker, has expressed his extreme disapproval of the way that Nikhil Advani's "Freedom at Midnight" series depicts India's division. Agnihotri bemoaned in a long social media post that Nikhil Advani's depiction of partition violence lacked a clear distinction between the aggressors and the victims.

Nikhil was also counseled by vivek Agnihotri to "have some balls" in order to demonstrate what he believed to be the "complete unaltered truth" about the divide. Agnihotri asserted that the violence was a religiously motivated Hindu genocide. He said that the show's creators purposefully made it "black and white" without emphasizing any colors or religious connotations, accusing it of "whitewashing" the community aspects.

On social media, people on both sides of the debate have voiced their passionate sentiments. While some users publicly backed Agnihotri, others accused him of purposefully distorting the facts in order to incite enmity amongst communities. "Partition was a tragedy, especially for Hindus, and it's about time someone highlighted this aspect," one person commented, expressing his support. Vivek, thank you!

Agnihotri's position was sharply criticized by another user, who said, "It is dangerous to use history to stoke communal sentiments." Not all art has to be colored with contentious hues; let it stay neutral. The controversy over Bollywood's portrayal of historical truth has been reignited by vivek Agnihotri's comments, with many urging that filmmakers take a neutral stand in these situations.
