bharatiya janata party (BJP) mla from maharashtra Nitesh Rane has said that he will ensure that there is no 'vote jihad' in the upcoming assembly elections and he is not intimidated by several FIRs related to inflammatory speeches registered against him. Rane said in an interview to 'PTI' that he has not done anything wrong by favoring his religion or community. He said that I will be mentioned as a Hindu on my birth and death certificates.
Rane further said that if I am trying to favor my religion or my community and for this I am being convicted of the crime of giving inflammatory speeches, then I do not think there is anything wrong in it. I have not done anything wrong.
'Vote jihad happened during lok sabha elections'
The bjp leader claimed that 'vote jihad' took place during the lok sabha elections held earlier this year. Rane, bjp candidate from Kankavali seat in Sindhudurg district for the assembly elections to be held on november 20 in maharashtra, said, "We will ensure that this jihad does not happen during the elections to be held in the state. The term 'vote jihad' is used in politics to polarize votes. bjp leaders claim that the Muslim community voted against the party on a large scale through 'vote jihad' in the lok sabha elections.
Rane made serious allegations
He alleged that on one hand people with a 'special jihadi mindset' of the Muslim community, 'Rohingya and Bangladeshis' want to claim that they follow the Constitution, but on the other hand they will do everything that comes under Sharia law. He said, "If you are promoting peace between Hindus and Muslims, if you think that laws should be equal for Hindus and Muslims, then why are you doing love jihad, land jihad and vote jihad?" Rane asked, "Can't you contest elections as an Indian? Can't you vote as an Indian? Why do you have to tell your community that you have voted against the Modi government? On the other hand, they also want to take advantage of all the schemes of the central government."
