Russia undertakes massive missile and drone attacks....

On Sunday, russia carried out large-scale drone and missile attacks on ukraine, which are being described as the biggest attack in recent months. In this attack, a nine-storey building in the city of Sumy in northern ukraine was targeted, killing eight people and injuring dozens.

According to Ukraine's Internal Affairs minister Ihor Klimenko, two children were also among those killed in Sumy. After this incident, more than 400 people were evacuated from the building. Rescue workers are still searching for people trapped inside the rubble. Klimenko said, "Every life destroyed by russia is a big tragedy."

Wide impact of the attack

Russia targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure in these attacks, which clearly shows the aim of disrupting the country's power supply before winter. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said russia launched 120 missiles and 90 drones, including Iranian-made "Shaheed" drones and other types of ballistic and cruise missiles. Ukraine's air force claimed it destroyed 144 of 210 aerial targets. Despite this, two people were killed and six others were injured in a drone attack in Mykolaiv.

Approval of US long-range missiles

Amid the attack, US President Joe Biden approved ukraine to use US-supplied long-range missiles (ATACMS) to attack inside Russia. The decision came as russia attempted to increase its military capability by adding thousands of North Korean troops to the Kursk region. This is the first time the US has allowed the use of Western weapons inside Russian territory.
