Yesterday was the last day of election campaign in the by-elections being held on nine seats of Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi party President akhilesh yadav has put in all his efforts for the victory of SP on these seats, but the india alliance, which claimed to be together on every platform, seems to be breaking down in UP. SP is seen alone in the battle of UP. No big leader of congress, be it state president ajay Rai or UP in-charge avinash Pandey, was seen on the SP platform.
UP in-charge avinash Pandey and state president ajay Rai were busy campaigning with priyanka gandhi on wayanad seat of Kerala. After the elections on wayanad are over, both the leaders are seen active in the elections of Maharashtra, but they do not seem interested in the nine seats of UP. congress leaders are missing from the SP platform. aam aadmi party is also maintaining distance from the election campaign of UP.
SP President left alone in by-elections
In the lok sabha elections, akhilesh yadav had given the bhadohi seat to mamata Banerjee's Trinamool congress, but when it came to by-elections, TMC also seemed to be silent, while ncp has even fielded its party candidates on some seats. This clearly shows that from congress to AAP or all the constituent parties of TMC and ncp india alliance left SP alone.
Actually, congress wanted to contest on four seats in the UP by-elections. But, SP was ready to give Khair and ghaziabad seats to congress, after which congress refused to contest the by-elections on not getting the desired seat. However, despite this, congress and SP have been pleading to be together. It is a different matter that this alliance is not visible on the ground. SP's national secretary and chief spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary has also expressed disappointment on this matter. He said that it is true that all the parties involved in the alliance should have engaged in election campaigning.
