The nine assembly seats in UP where by-elections are being held include Phulpur seat of Sangam city Prayagraj. Voting is also to be held tomorrow on Phulpur seat. Before voting, polling parties have been dispatched from the city's Mundera Mandi yesterday amid tight security arrangements. 435 polling parties have been dispatched to Phulpur seat to conduct the voting. At the time of departure of polling parties, along with the observer, other senior officers of the police administration were also present.
More than three thousand employees have been deployed to conduct voting in Phulpur. Twenty-five of them are reserve employees. Apart from this, police and home guards as well as paramilitary forces have also been deployed for security. 220 centers set up for voting
Votes will be cast at a total of 435 booths in Phulpur assembly seat. 220 centers have been set up for voting. A dozen booths here have been declared sensitive. Apart from this, there will also be ten model and one pick booth. 407366 voters will exercise their franchise in Phulpur. Out of these, 223560 are male voters and 183748 are female voters. Apart from this, there are also 58 voters of the third gender.
A dozen candidates are in the fray for the Phulpur assembly seat. However, the main contest is between deepak Patel of BJP, Mohammad Mujtaba Siddiqui of Samajwadi party and jitendra singh of BSP. Votes will be cast on the Phulpur seat on november 20 from 7 am to 5 pm. The administration has claimed that all preparations have been completed for the voting. However, allegations and counter-allegations are also being made in full swing before the voting.
