Political attacks intensify amid Manipur violence...?
Tension has increased once again in Manipur, which has been in the fire of violence for the last one and a half years. The phase of fierce and violent protests is going on. The series of riots continues in many areas here. This is the reason why the government has imposed a curfew in many areas here. Internet services are closed in many districts. The central government is constantly trying to control the situation here. Recently, the number of security forces has increased here. Union home minister amit shah also made many big decisions, but the situation still seemed to be out of control.
Understand the complete condition of Manipur
1. The current situation in Manipur is once again the same as before. Many areas of the state are in the grip of violence. On one hand, the people of the Kuki community are resorting to violence over their demands, while on the other hand, the Meitei community is on the streets demanding strict action against the killing of six members of the same family.
2. The latest violence in Manipur started from Jiribam. First, the Kuki militants attacked the security forces' post. Some militants were killed in retaliation. After this, they kidnapped three women and three children of the same family on 12 november 2024. Later their bodies were found on the Assam-Manipur border on 16 november, after which the Meitei community started violent protests demanding strict action against the Kuki militants.
3. To control the situation in Manipur, the central government has decided to send 50 more companies of CAPF. In this way, now 268 companies of CAPF will be deployed in the state. The number of soldiers will increase by five thousand more in these. In this way, the number of soldiers deployed in the violence-affected areas of the state will increase to 26,800. The largest number of these 50 companies will be of CRPF, while the rest will be of BSF and other security forces. The additional 50 companies that will go here will have an additional 6500 paramilitary forces. There are already 40,000 central forces present here.
4. Protesters set fire to two churches and three houses in Jiribam town. In Thangmeiband, protesters burnt tyres just 200 metres away from the assembly building.
5. The state and central governments are making different efforts to stop the violence in Manipur. The state government has decided to shut down the internet for the next two days in the seven violence-affected districts. This order is till november 23.
