The maharashtra assembly elections were fought completely differently from the circumstances of 2019, so the results were also quite unexpected. It was the first time when the ncp, divided into two factions, entered the fray for the assembly elections. On one side was Sharad Pawar's faction's NCP-SP and on the other side was Ajit Pawar's NCP. The way ajit pawar claimed to be the real ncp and the party symbol went to him. He also had to prove it in the elections. The results really went in his favor.

In the contest between Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi, there was also a fight between Ajit faction and Sharad faction. In this, Ajit faction defeated Sharad faction and won 41 seats while Sharad Pawar's party's performance was very poor and it could save only 10 seats. Many big leaders had to face defeat. However, the party's state president Jayant Patil won the election.
