In a hamlet in the hamirpur district of himachal pradesh, two Kashmiri businessmen were reportedly the targets of communal abuse. According to reports, the event happened in Surjanpur village, where the vendors were going door to door to sell their shawls. In a social media video that went viral, a lady claiming to be the wife of a local Sarpanch started the abuse.

Because the guys are members of the Muslim community, the woman is shown in the video threatening them and pushing the locals to boycott their company. Additionally, the mother forced them to recite phrases like "Jai Shri Ram." In the video, she can be heard asking, "Why should we purchase from Kashmiris? Do they provide us with free things? We shouldn't purchase anything from them, even if they do. The woman further asserted that himachal pradesh is Hindu territory and cautioned the traders from going back there.

One of the traders, who was clearly upset, tried to talk sense into her head by claiming to be an indian national. But after being forced to sing religious chants, the pair—among them an elderly man—were observed fleeing the scene as the situation worsened.

The two guys are among the many Kashmiri businessmen who make their living by traveling around india and selling handicrafts. They are known for supporting Kashmiri culture and economy via their products, which include saffron, dried fruits, Pashmina shawls, and elaborately created things.
