Salman Khan's previously contentious remarks on the deadly 26/11 attacks on mumbai have reappeared on social media as the country commemorates the incident. When the actor discussed the attacks in a way that many felt was disrespectful back in 2010, it made news.

Khan gave pakistan a clean pass in an interview with a Pakistani tv channel, claiming that the 26/11 mumbai assault was not the fault of the Pakistani government. "Too much hype has been created around the 26/11 attacks because elite people were targeted," salman is heard saying in the video that is making the rounds on social media. Attacks have also occurred in tiny towns and on trains, although nobody has discussed them much.

He added, "Everybody knows that the Pakistani government was not behind it and it was a terrorist attack. More than anything, our security had failed. We have had lot of attacks earlier, and all of them were not from Pakistan. They were from within. This time we because there was Taj, Oberoi were under attacked, everyone stood up. We had bomb blast earlier, there have been attacks in buses and trains."

On the sixteenth anniversary of the terrible 26/11 attacks, an old video of the actor has come back online, and people are making fun of salman for his divisive comments. The sultan actor subsequently expressed regret for his comments, stating that they were "twisted" out of context. salman apologized on his X account as well.
