Iskcon's saint Chinmay krishna Das accused of treason in Bangladesh?

Chinmay krishna Das Brahmachari's full name is Chandan Kumar Dhar Prakash Chinmay krishna Das Brahmachari. He is the spokesperson of Santan Jagran Manch and a saint of ISKCON. Recently, Chinmay krishna Das Brahmachari has become a topic of national discussion due to his arrest in the treason case.

Chinmay krishna Das is also the head of Pundarik Dham, a religious place run by ISKCON in Chittagong. He was arrested by the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan police from Hazrat Shahjalal international Airport at 4:30 pm on monday (25 November). After the arrest, he was produced in the Chittagong court on tuesday (26 November), where the court ordered him to be sent to custody.

Followers protested against the court order

After the decision of the Chittagong court, followers of Chinmay krishna Das Brahmachari started protesting outside the court premises. The arrest of Chinmay krishna Das Brahmachari drew the attention of many areas including India, which was also criticized a lot. It is noteworthy that a case of treason was registered against Chinmay krishna Das Brahmachari and 18 others on October 25 for hoisting a saffron flag above the national flag of bangladesh at the New Market intersection in Chittagong.

What did the Chittagong police officer do?

Chittagong police officer Kazi Mohammad Tariq Aziz said that this case was registered by Mohammad Firoz Khan at the Kotwali police station on the night of October 30 (Wednesday). The accused in the case are Chinmoy krishna Das Brahmachari (38), organising secretary of the Chittagong division of ISKCON, ajay Dutta (34), coordinator of the Chittagong division of Hindu Jagran Manch, and Lila raj Das Brahmachari (48), head of the Prabhatak iskcon temple in Chittagong, along with 15-20 others.
