Meiyazhagan debuted in cinemas throughout the world on september 27, 2024, and immediately won over viewers with its surprisingly straightforward yet profoundly moving narrative. Viewers anxiously awaited the film's OTT release, which occurred just one month later in October, because of its depth of passion.

This tamil film, which stars arvind swamy and karthi in the key parts, has captured the hearts of viewers with its poignant narrative and remarkable acting. With their captivating performances, both actors have genuinely made an impact. For more than four weeks, the movie has been in the top ten Netflix movies.

Many fans who currently watch it on OTT lament that they were unable to see it in cinemas. They believe that seeing such a moving and exquisite movie at a crowded cinema would have been a once-in-a-lifetime event. Meiyazhagan is best viewed on a large screen, in their opinion. However, a portion of the crowd complained that the movie was too sluggish and not worth seeing in a theater while it was showing. They maintained that this type of movie is more suited for OTT viewing.

It has become commonplace to call movies "slow" or "boring." However, some movies are purposefully made to be that way. It may not thrill every audience segment, but it strikes a deep chord with those who value slow, well-written drama. Some moviegoers who thought Meiyazhagan was more appropriate for over-the-top (OTT) viewing are just as wrong as those who are currently streaming it and lamenting that they were unable to see it in theaters. Both viewpoints are skewed, and this pattern is troublesome.
