Eknath Shinde reluctantly agreed to leave the post of chief minister but he has demanded the post of home minister and some important departments. Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde went to his ancestral village Dera in Satara. Due to this, the swearing-in ceremony of the Mahagathbandhan government has been postponed. Eknath Shinde wants the home Ministry so that he can take decisions independently. If any other post is accepted, then Eknath Shinde will have to depend on the chief minister and the Finance minister for the final approval of the decisions taken by his department.

bjp has also claimed important departments like Revenue, Higher Education, Law, Energy, Rural Development. While ajit pawar is likely to get Finance, Planning, Cooperation and Agriculture departments. In such a situation, urban development, public works, industry and health can come in the share of Shinde group. Apart from this, Shinde faction and Ajit faction can get one ministerial post each at the Centre. Shrikant Shinde and praful patel can be considered for these two ministerial posts.
