Even though pushpa 2: The Rule is regarded as one of the most anticipated movies, Kantara: Chapter 1 is also on the list and is anticipated to be better than the first movie. The movie is now at a standstill since some of the younger actors involved in Rishab Shetty's prequel had an accident.

The car carrying the performers crashed close to Jadkal, which is near Kollur, Karnataka. In Mudoor, the gang was firing. The injured have been taken to the Jadkaal Mahalakshmi Clinic, while their present condition is unknown. In addition, the prequel's filming schedule has been halted, which has affected the continuing work at coastal locations.

The accident occurs just as filming for Kantara: Chapter 1 is about to conclude, having already reached the third schedule. Eleven months remain till the movie's premiere. The persistent problem has, however, raised the possibility of a postponement of the release date. There may be a change of a few weeks, but it may not be postponed by many months.

Eleven months is a long period, so it would appear that everything would be finished by then. However, other areas need to be attended to even if filming is completed on schedule. The film has a higher budget than the first one, at Rs. 500 crores. This demonstrates that a significant amount of VFX work will be required, which will take a lot of time. It's unclear if there will be any modifications to the existing release date, which is set for october 1 of next year. The movie will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and malayalam in addition to Kannada.
