Priyanka Chopra has talked about how her father, Dr. ashok Chopra, was both her greatest friend and her strongest supporter. Even 'Daddy's darling daughter' in his handwriting is tattooed on the actress's wrist.

Naturally, the actress was devastated when her father became ill.

After battling illness, ashok Chopra passed away in 2013. Naturally, the family had a difficult time throughout the more than eight years he battled this condition. Dr. Madhu Chopra talked about how her husband's illness was the "most vulnerable moment" of her life in an interview with the YouTube channel Something Bigger Show. She explained how her family was assisted during that time by Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan.

Dr. Madhu Chopra revealed that her family was working to ensure her husband had the finest care available. She was discussing his sickness with her relatives in America. "He was really sick. Bring him to Boston, according to my brother, if you believe he has a five percent chance of surviving. Getting him on an aircraft was another issue, she recounted, since, despite our disclaimers, no airline wanted to take such a critical patient.

Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan, and rakesh roshan were filming Krrish at the time. The father-son helped pay for her father's medical care in Boston after learning about her issue. "She shared her concerns with Priyanka, who happened to be filming Krrish with Hrithik and rakesh roshan," she recounted. "Why are you crying?" he questioned her, and both father and son then arranged for the airlines to transport us. They knew people, so they threw in a word and assisted us."

Ashok wanted to keep his sickness a secret, Madhu disclosed. "We'll deal with it ourselves, he said, so don't tell anyone in the family. It was the most difficult period to see this mountain gradually deteriorate and cope with a problem. He was internalizing all of his fears and worry since he was unable to express them. I had the impression that he was keeping me out, but he wasn't sharing because he didn't want me to worry. I didn't feel like I was being treated like a real partner. I wasn't sure whether I should be upset with him or compassionate with him, or even resist it or understand it. "That was a difficult period," Dr. Madhu Chopra remarked.
