In andhra pradesh, the State Waqf Board appointed by the previous administration has been disbanded by the Chandrababu Naidu-led nda government. On Saturday, november 30, the Minorities Welfare Department issued a government Order, rescinding the one that was issued in october of the previous year and creating the Waqf Board.

While the others were nominated, three of them were elected members.
 
On november 1, 2023, the andhra pradesh high court halted the election of the State Waqf Board chairperson in response to a petition contesting the procedure used to create the Waqf Board.
 

In order to settle the lawsuits and avoid an administrative void, the State Waqf Board's CEO alerted the government to the Board's extended inactivity and the pending writ petitions challenging the validity of G.O. Ms. No. 47, according to GO number 75, which was released on Saturday.
 
In the most recent GO, Minorities Welfare Department Secretary Kati Harshvardhan declared that the government hereby revokes G.O. Ms. No. 47 dated 21.10.2023, with immediate effect, after carefully weighing the High Court's observations and in the interest of upholding good governance, protecting Waqf properties, and guaranteeing the efficient operation of the Waqf Board.
 

The GO issued by the previous administration was withdrawn by the coalition government, according to a statement made by minister for Minority Welfare N. Md. Farooq. He said that the high court had issued a temporary injunction to halt the election of the chairman after some people had petitioned the court to contest the nomination of Waqf Board members.
 
According to the minister, the coalition government issued a new GO and revoked the previous one to fill the void left by legal challenges that affected the Waqf Board's operations.


"The welfare of minorities and the preservation and administration of Waqf properties are top priorities for the coalition government led by chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. According to Farooq, the administration is moving in this path.
 
TDP politician Shaik Abdul Aziz was named head of the andhra pradesh Waqf Board by the coalition government in September.
 
The tdp president for the nellore parliamentary constituency is Abdul Aziz, a former mayor of Nellore.
 
The previous government's Waqf Board may be dissolved, making room for the creation of a new board led by Abdul Aziz.
