As per report Devendra Fadnavis, two-time former chief minister, is widely seen as the frontrunner for the top post. In the november 20 state assembly polls, whose results were declared three days later, the Mahayuti won 230 of the 288 assembly seats. The bjp led with 132 seats, while the shiv sena got 57 and ncp 41 seats.
Meanwhile shiv sena (UBT) mla Varun Sardesai on monday claimed the trends in postal ballots and EVM results of the maharashtra assembly polls appear inconsistent, raising doubts about the integrity of the EVM system. Sardesai, who defeated NCP’s Zeeshan siddique to win the Vandre east assembly seat in the debut contest, also claimed a suspicious spike in voter turnout during the final two hours of polling and demanded a reply from the election Commission.
Moreover bjp leader vijay rupani on him and Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman being selected as observers for maharashtra said, “The party has informed about sending both of us to maharashtra as observers, we are going as observers for the process of selecting the party leader in Maharashtra. The central office will tell when the parliamentary party meeting will be held there, we will go there and meet everyone, then whatever happens we will tell the high command and then the leader will be elected.
