New troubles arise for Hunter Biden...?
After being pardoned for tax and gun-related crimes, US Acting President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden has now been accused of owing millions of dollars in rent. US President Joe Biden had granted a "full and unconditional pardon" for potential federal crimes committed by Hunter Biden between january 1, 2024 and december 1, 2024.
Sequoia Venture capital firm partner Sean Maguire alleged on social media that Hunter Biden had not paid his family's rent of more than three lakh dollars. Maguire tweeted, "So is Hunter Biden's $300K+ rent forgiven too? Thanks, Joe."
Locks changed despite not paying rent in house
Maguire said that Hunter Biden did not pay the rent of his house in Venice, california between 2019 and 2020. He claimed that Hunter changed the locks and used security services to prevent the landlord from entering the house. When asked about an eviction attempt by a social media user, Maguire said that he did not do so because he was afraid of confronting the Biden family. This case is reminiscent of an old controversy when Hunter was also accused of owing $80,000 in unpaid rent to Sweetgreen CEO Jonathan Newman.
Elon Musk's response
Fox news reported that the President's pardon is only for federal crimes, so Hunter Biden will not get any legal protection in rent matters. On this, Elon Musk also reacted, saying, "Truth is funnier than fiction."
