Recent tourism data shows that while the number of international visitors has grown, the number of indian tourists has decreased by 193,298 this year compared to last year.

The number of international visitors to the taj mahal increased from 2,684,825 in 2022–2023 to 2,770,340 in 2023–2024. Meanwhile, since the temple's construction, the number of devotees attending the ram mandir in ayodhya has climbed dramatically, and the temple's popularity keeps rising.

In the past nine months, 47.61 crore people have visited the ram mandir in ayodhya, demonstrating the temple's growing popularity. Of them, roughly 1.4 million were overseas visitors and 47.47 crore were local visitors. However, the taj mahal in agra has suffered a drop in tourists, particularly after the COVID-19 epidemic. prince Bajpai, the tourism administrator for agra, stated that although the number of international visitors has grown, the number of local visitors has decreased, a tendency that has been increasingly apparent since the ram mandir was inaugurated.

According to experts, one reason why fewer people are visiting popular tourist destinations like the taj mahal is because indians are becoming more interested in traveling abroad. Data indicates that Indians' interest in international travel has grown from 30% to 35%, which has an effect on domestic travel.
