According to the traffic police data, between october 1 and december 11, more than 2.80 lakh challans were issued against vehicles without a valid pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC). According to a PTI report, the traffic police issued 2.80 lakh challans against such vehicles and collected a fine of about Rs 280 crore. According to the data, 5.03 lakh vehicle owners were punished for this crime, in which a fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed.

Besides, the police seized 8,509 vehicles, including 10-year-old petrol and 15-year-old diesel vehicles, this winter as part of its pollution control drive. According to police data, 2.74 lakh challans were issued for PUCC violations and 8,112 overage vehicles were seized since the implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) on october 15. Along with this, the traffic police took action against 1,084 vehicles carrying garbage and other allied material without proper cover and vandalism this winter season. This figure reached 1,676 till december 11 this year. The fine for this offence is Rs 20,000.
81,136 vehicles fined for improper parking
The data shows that 3.02 lakh goods trains were checked during the winter and 32,525 such vehicles were returned. Since october 1, 81,136 vehicles were fined and 1.48 lakh notices were issued for causing obstruction or improper parking.

Along with this, between october 1 and december 11, 603 challans were issued against vehicles not driving in the designated or proper lane, 13,078 challans were issued for driving against the flow of traffic.
