The 14th and final round of this World Chess championship match was held in singapore the day before yesterday. In this, Gukesh played with black pieces. The match lasted for more than 3 hours. In it, Gukesh defeated Ding Liren in the 58th move and became the world champion. With this, Gukesh created history by becoming the world chess champion at the age of 18. In this match held last Thursday, Gukesh created a historical record by defeating Liran 7.5-6.5 in the 14th game to win the world championship title. Earlier, Russia's legendary Garry Kasparov became the youngest world champion to win the World Chess championship title when he defeated Anatoly Karpov in 1985 and won the title at the age of 22.Similarly, Gukesh is the second indian to be crowned World Chess champion after Viswanathan Anand. At just 18, Gukesh defeated China's Ding Liren to win the World Chess championship title. Gukesh earned a prize money of Rs. 11.45 crore.

In the World Chess championship, this time each game win came with a prize of $200,000 i.e. Rs. 1.69 crore. Out of this, Gukesh won three games and earned $600,000 i.e. Rs. 5.07 crore. The remaining prize money of $1.5 million was divided equally between the two players. With this, Kukesh's total income has increased to $ 1.35 million and Rs. 11.45 crore. In India, it applies to those earning more than Rs. 10 lakh per year. The basic income tax rate for high-income earners is 30%. In addition, high net-worth individuals with income above Rs. 5 crore are charged a surcharge of up to 37% along with 4% health and education cess.

If Gukesh's prize money is taxed at the maximum rate, his tax liability will be approximately $ 405,000, or more than Rs 3 crore. It is noteworthy that including the surcharge, his total tax outflow will exceed Rs. 4.67 crore.
