A karnataka congress mla accused the district in-charge minister of Davangere of conspiring with the bjp to weaken the party, reigniting rumours of internal strife within the Congress.
Channagiri mla Basavaraju v Shivaganga requested in a letter to deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar that SS Mallikarjun, the minister in charge of the Davangere district, be removed right now.In the letter, Basavaraju, the head of the Kisan congress in the Davangere district, said that mallikarjun was intimately associated with the bjp, embarrassing the area's ruling party.
He backed up his accusation with a specific instance of a Public Works Department (PWD) employee being transferred.Basavaraju claims that because of family matters, IS Odenapur from Davangere was intended to be replaced by R Vijay Kumar from Shivamogga. According to the mla, an order was granted for this transfer, but mallikarjun allegedly put pressure on them to stop or reverse it, which led to issues.Odenapur was chosen as the district president in a government employee election, according to Basavaraju, with a significant amount of financial assistance from bjp supporters. He implied that the party's favourite candidate might have lost because of the Mallikarjun's support for him.In his letter to Shivakumar, the president of the karnataka Pradesh congress Committee, Basavaraju demanded that the district in-charge minister's actions be examined, particularly his seemingly contradictory approach—the so-called "ibbangi policy," in which he issued one order while seemingly influencing the outcome in a different way.In order to resolve these problems and guarantee impartiality and fair practices, Basavaraju asked Shivakumar to step in. He claimed that there was unhappiness among the local congress leaders, lawmakers, and activists as a result of Mallikarjun's affiliation.
The Channagiri mla said that if nothing was done, he feared that the congress will suffer more losses in the area due to the approaching panchayat elections.
