Control over Mount Hermon

Israel has also captured Mount Hermon, the highest peak in Syria's Golan Heights region. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently visited this region. He said that until some other arrangement is implemented to ensure Israel's security, the Israeli army will remain deployed in the Hermon region. Netanyahu has instructed the army to be ready for deployment in this area by 2025.
