The traffic unit of delhi police has taken the biggest step so far in view of the recurrent stifling pollution in the national capital. Now vehicles banned under GRAP-4 will not get petrol-diesel in Delhi. delhi traffic police has officially issued a letter to all the petrol pump owners of the capital regarding this decision. After this decision of delhi police, now only BS-6 vehicles will get petrol-diesel while the provisions related to GRAP-4 are applicable.

In fact, as soon as GRAP-4 was implemented again in delhi, delhi traffic police came into alert mode from 11 pm on monday night. delhi police has taken all the necessary steps this time also to reduce pollution which were taken last time during GRAP-4.

Last time during GRAP-4, around 350 vehicles were being challaned in 24 hours which were plying without a valid pollution certificate. Also, many vehicles whose expiry date has expired were being seized. Now after the GRAP ban is re-implemented, delhi traffic police has taken a big step.

According to delhi Police's Special police Commissioner Traffic ajay Chaudhary, a letter has been written to all the petrol pump owners in delhi regarding this decision. In the letter, petrol pump owners have been told not to give petrol-diesel to vehicles other than BS-6 vehicles. Visibility also decreases due to pollution going into the severe category. This also affects the speed of vehicles.

More than 50 ZOs put on the roads

According to Satyabir Katara, in-charge of GRAP-4 task force and Additional police Commissioner of delhi police, all steps were taken as soon as GRAP-4 was implemented. This time, apart from other steps, more than 50 ZOs have been put on the roads. These ZOs will catch the vehicles spreading pollution and banned vehicles running in Grape-4. If the pump owners are caught violating the orders of delhi police, action will be taken against them too. Deputy Commissioner of police Dhal Singh of New delhi Range of traffic police said that by tuesday evening, letters were written to eight petrol pump owners located in New delhi district and the owners have been asked to take action with immediate effect.
