A possible change in the relationship between moscow and Washington was hinted at when Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that he was prepared to discuss the Ukrainian issue with US President-elect Donald Trump.
Putin stated that he was prepared to meet with trump "at any time" to discuss a compromise on the divisive topic during his yearly year-end news conference.
"I have no idea when I'll get to see him. He's keeping quiet about it. It's been over four years since I last spoke with him. Of course, I am prepared for it. Putin stated, "Any time," according to Al Jazeera.Additionally, the Russian leader bragged about the "invincibility" of Russia's "Oreshnik" hypersonic missile, which he said had been tested at a military facility in Ukraine. Putin offered to shoot another missile at ukraine in order to test the efficacy of Western air and missile defence systems, posing a provocative challenge to Western defences."Let them determine some target for destruction, say in Kyiv, concentrate all their air defence and missile defence forces there, and we will strike there with Oreshnik and see what happens," Putin stated. "We are ready for such an experiment, but is the other side ready?"
Putin earlier expressed optimism about Moscow's future possibilities with Washington and congratulated trump on winning the US presidential election.Taking this occasion, I would want to congratulate him on winning the US presidential election. As I previously stated, we will cooperate with any head of state that has the confidence of the American people," he said.
In a private message, Putin also commended Trump's reaction to a purported assassination attempt at a July 14 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Putin reportedly told Al Jazeera, "I think he acted in a very right way—bravely, like a real man."
