Reportedly hours after two bharatiya janata party (BJP) MPs Pratap Sarangi and mukesh Rajput, were injured amid the jostling on the parliament premises, prime minister Narendra Modi called up both the MPs and enquired about their health.The development was also confirmed by Dr ajay Shukla at Delhi’s ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, who told reporters, “He (Prime minister Narendra Modi) called up and inquired of the condition of both the MPs."
He said “He spoke with both of them and tried to make them understand to not worry and that they would be fine. They seem to be better now, their medical tests are being done". Sixty nine year old Sarangi, a bjp member from Balasore in Odisha, suffered injuries on the left temple of his forehead. He was later wheeled off to an ambulance and taken to ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment. Later, Union Ministers shivraj singh chouhan and pralhad joshi met Sarangi and the hospital to inquire about his well-being.
Moreover, congress president mallikarjun Kharge on thursday wrote to lok sabha Speaker Om Birla, claiming he was physically pushed by bjp MPs on the parliament premises following which he lost his balance. Kharge asked the lok sabha Speaker to order an inquiry into the bjp MPs “pushing" him, saying it was an assault not just on him but on the rajya sabha LoP and the congress president. He wrote on X “My letter to the Hon’ble lok sabha Speaker urging to order an inquiry into the incident which is an assault not just on me personally, but on the leader of the Opposition, rajya sabha and the congress President”.
