Naxalites are being wiped out from Bihar...

The Principal Secretary of the home Department of the bihar Government said on friday that due to a solid campaign against Naxalites in the state, their activities have been limited to only eight out of a total of 38 districts in the state. Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar Chaudhary said, "Naxal activities are now limited to only eight districts of Bihar. Earlier it was limited to 10 districts. These eight districts are Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Rohtas, Kaimur, Jamui, Munger and Lakhisarai."

Solid campaigns launched against Naxalites

He said, "All this has happened due to a solid campaign against Naxalites by the security forces in the state. Now they are active only in the forest areas of those districts which are adjacent to neighboring Jharkhand." He said that till november this year, security forces arrested 120 Naxalites from various areas of the state. Choudhary said that during anti-Naxal operations till november this year, the security forces have also recovered 24 weapons, 246 cartridges, 134 kg of explosives, 554 detonators and 146 'cane bombs'.

He said that the Special Task Force (STF) of the state police has also arrested 53 Naxalites wanted in various cases this year. At the same time, according to bihar Director General of police (DGP) Vinay Kumar, there has been a substantial reduction in cases of robbery, theft and riots during the year 2024. He said that there has been a substantial reduction in cases of robbery (15.36 percent decline), theft (5.93 percent) and riot (15.82 percent) in the state.

The DGP said that the police personnel arrested a total of 3,00,526 accused in various cases and recovered 4861 illegally purchased weapons, 165 country-made bombs, 22,632 cartridges, 604 detonators and also detected 83 illegal gun factories during searches in the year 2024. Now the focus is mainly on curbing cyber crime, drug menace cases, violation of prohibition law, economic crime, property-related crime, smuggling, crime against women.

What did bihar DGP say?

The DGP said, "The state police has also recommended 204 proposals to confiscate property worth Rs 339.39 crore to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for further action." The Principal Secretary of the home Department also said that the concerned officials also destroyed more than 2525 acres of opium cultivation so far in the year 2024. "Apart from this, the police recovered Rs 52,77,800 fake indian currency during searches at various places in the city in 2024 (till November)," he said.
