America is in tension due to this action of Pakistan...

The US has identified Pakistan's development of long-range ballistic missile capabilities as an emerging security threat. US Deputy National Security Advisor john Finer, speaking at the Carnegie Endowment for international Peace, said that Pakistan's missile development is leading to a major change in its strategic thinking. He warned, "If this continues, pakistan will be able to reach targets outside South Asia, including the US."

The US has recently launched a new round of sanctions aimed at stopping Pakistan's missile program. For the first time, these include Pakistan's government institution National Development Complex (NDC) and three private companies in Karachi. These companies have been accused of collaborating in missile development.

Deterioration in US-Pakistan relations

US-Pakistan relations have been continuously weakening since the US withdrawal from afghanistan in 2021. These efforts of Pakistan, once considered a US partner against terrorism, are now being considered a threat to security. US officials say pakistan did not give a satisfactory answer to their questions.

Pakistan's growing dependence on china and the US-India defense partnership have further increased strategic instability in South Asia. While the US has strengthened defense technical cooperation with india, pakistan has started enabling its missile program to have a wider international reach, in addition to tensions with India.

Pakistan called US sanctions 'discriminatory policy'

Pakistan rejected these US sanctions and called it "discriminatory". The Pakistani Foreign office said in its statement that their missile program is completely defensive and its purpose is only to prevent indian aggression and maintain regional peace. pakistan accused the US of adopting a "double policy" and said that it is providing advanced military technology to india which can disturb the regional balance.
