rahul gandhi on monday (December 23) met the family of somnath Suryavanshi, a man who was arrested after the violence in Parbhani, maharashtra and allegedly died in judicial custody. He alleged that somnath Suryavanshi was killed by the police and it is a case of custodial death. Violence broke out after the replica of the Constitution was damaged near the statue of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar outside the railway station of Parbhani city located in Marathwada region on the evening of december 10. Suryavanshi, a resident of Shankar nagar in Parbhani, was among the more than 50 people who were arrested in connection with the violence. According to a PTI report, the police say that Suryavanshi was taken to the hospital complaining of chest pain and uneasiness, where he died. chief minister devendra fadnavis has ordered a judicial inquiry into the Parbhani violence.
