prime minister Modi laid the foundation stone of Ken-Betwa river link project and other development projects in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh. This project will be historic in solving the irrigation and drinking water crisis in the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party's national president akhilesh yadav has staked SP's claim on the central government's plan by sharing the picture of former PM manmohan singh and Mulayam Singh Yadav.
SP chief akhilesh yadav wrote - "'Linking rivers is the work of connecting the country' With this big thought, our Netaji had conceptualized the 'project to link the rivers of two states for the first time in the country' and signed the MoU of Ken-Betwa linking project with the then chief minister of madhya pradesh and presented it to the then prime minister Manmohan Singh."
Former cm akhilesh yadav wrote- "The big vision behind this project was to increase self-reliance and stop migration by providing sufficient water for irrigation, drinking water and electricity production as well as improving the water level of drought-affected Bundelkhand and opening new doors of investment and tourism for the all-round development of this region. If the current central government had given the right priority to this project, then this great work of Netaji would have started earlier and would have been completed by now."
What did PM Modi say?
prime minister Narendra Modi said in Khajuraho, "In the past, congress governments were experts in making announcements. congress governments had neither the intention nor the seriousness to implement the schemes. Today we are seeing the benefits of PM Kisan Samman nidhi Yojana, farmers of madhya pradesh are getting installments of Kisan Samman Nidhi, this was also possible only when Jan Dhan accounts were opened."
