The body of an indian killed in the Russia-Ukraine war was brought back to their hometown after 6 months and buried.

Kanhaiya Yadav (41) is from Bangata village in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. He has a wife and 2 sons. Kanhaiya went to russia on january 16 after obtaining a work visa through an agent. He went to St. Peter's Square area and was trained as a cook. After that, he is said to have been recruited into the Russian army.


Subsequently, he was deployed as a first-class soldier in the war with Ukraine. Kanhaiya, who was seriously injured in this, was admitted to the hospital. But a few days later, Kanhaiya died without any treatment. Six months after his death, his body was brought back to his hometown last Monday. He was buried after the last rites that evening.


Kanhaiya's wife Geeta said, "My husband informed us on May 9 that he was injured while fighting in ukraine on behalf of the Russian army. He was in touch with us until May 25. After that, he did not speak to us.


After 6 months, on december 6, the indian embassy officials in moscow contacted us. At that time, they said that my husband had died on june 17 due to lack of treatment. After that, his body was handed over to us somehow."


Kanhaiya's son ajay said, "The Russian government has announced that it will give us Rs. 30 lakh compensation for my father's death. We have not received that amount yet."
