As per report bollywood star Sonu Sood, who earned widespread admiration for his humanitarian efforts during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, has responded to rumours suggesting that his acts of kindness were a stepping stone towards a political career. Known as the “messiah" for migrant workers during the pandemic, Sood received an overwhelming number of offers to enter politics, including high-profile roles, but he chose to turn them all down. In a recent interview with Humans of Bombay, Sood opened up about the tempting political offers he had received, some of which included positions as Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and even a seat in the Rajya Sabha. Despite these overtures from powerful political figures, Sood made it clear that he had no interest in pursuing a career in politics.

Meanwhile “I was even offered the position of Chief Minister. When I turned it down, they suggested, ‘Why not Deputy Chief Minister?’ Some of the most influential people in the country were behind these offers, including a seat in the Rajya Sabha. They said, ‘Join us, you don’t need to fight elections, just be with us’," Sood recounted, adding that it was a surreal experience that such prominent figures were encouraging him to make a difference. He acknowledged the privileges that would come with a political role, such as security and a government position, but emphasised that he was not ready for that life.

Moreover he said “I’ve been told that in politics, I would have high security, a residence in Delhi, and a prestigious role with a government letterhead. It sounds appealing, but I’m not ready for that yet. Perhaps in the future, my perspective might change, but right now, I’m content with where I am". Sood, who is currently preparing for the release of his new film Fateh, expressed his unwavering passion for cinema.
