After the cabinet expansion in maharashtra, on friday (03 January), deputy cm and Urban Development, Housing and Public Works Department minister Eknath Shinde held a meeting to review his department. In this meeting, there was a discussion about the housing of Mumbaikars. He has assured to give houses to more than 1 lakh ineligible slum dwellers in Dharavi.
Under the biggest project of the Housing Department, Dharavi redevelopment work is going on. There have been uproars regarding this project, but deputy cm Eknath Shinde, while taking a meeting of the Housing Department on friday, assured that ineligible slum dwellers will be given houses. There are more than 60 thousand eligible slum dwellers before 2007. The follow-up and ineligible ones are more than 1 lakh. Shinde held a meeting to give houses to all of them.
Eknath Shinde attacks Mahavikas Aghadi
Eknath Shinde said in front of all the officials that the then government of Mahavikas Aghadi had promised to give houses to the people but that government failed. He ordered to work to give houses to everyone during the tenure of the Mahayuti government. He said, "Positive things about the development of Dharavi should reach the people." He said that the opposition has been repeatedly making false allegations about redevelopment, so everyone needs to be aware.
The maharashtra cabinet had taken a big decision regarding farmers on january 2. The state government led by devendra fadnavis will return their land to 963 farmers, which was confiscated by the government due to non-payment of government dues on them. Giving information, Chandrashekhar Bawankule had said that it has been decided in the cabinet meeting that the land will be returned to 963 farmers. He said that this is an important step, which the state government has taken for the welfare of the farmers.
