Whether it's because of its leaders like Imran Khan, its economic problems, U.S. sanctions, or its conflicts with Afghanistan, pakistan frequently makes headlines.

With the deportation of 258 of its people from seven nations in a single day, pakistan has once again found itself at the focus of international shame. Deportations from saudi arabia were the most common, and the grounds ranged from accusations of begging to participation in illicit activities and lacking documents.

According to officials, up to 258 Pakistanis were deported in the last day from seven nations, including China, saudi arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. A representative of the immigration department at Karachi's Jinnah international Airport told the news agency PTI that 244 of them were deported on emergency travel permits, while 14 of them held Pakistani passports.

Professional beggars made up nine of the individuals deported from saudi arabia, he claimed. He said, "Two of them were caught performing Hajj without permits and were sent back after completing their sentences."

The growing problem of Pakistani beggars entering the Kingdom on the pretense of religious pilgrimage was brought to the attention of Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj earlier in november 2024. Saudi officials have voiced worries over a growing number of Pakistani nationals coming to saudi arabia on Umrah visas and indulging in begging activities, according to sources inside the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as reported by The Express Tribune. The government issued a warning that if this problem continues, it may negatively affect Pakistani pilgrims doing the Hajj and Umrah and their plans.
