Jemimah Rodrigues' Guitar Celebration After Maiden ODI Century Goes Viral

Jemimah Rodrigues, the indian middle-order batter, scored her maiden ODI century on january 12 during the second ODI against ireland at Rajkot. Batting at No. 4, she made an impressive 102 runs off 91 balls, including 12 boundaries. Rodrigues reached her century with a boundary on the second ball of the 50th over, bowled by Arlene Kelly.

Following her landmark achievement, Jemimah celebrated in style with a guitar gesture, a moment that quickly went viral on social media. Her teammates gave her a standing ovation for this personal milestone. However, she was dismissed shortly after, on the third ball of the 50th over, but not before contributing to a 183-run partnership with Harleen Deol.

Harleen also put up an impressive performance, scoring 89 runs off 84 balls with the help of 12 fours. Together, they helped india post a total of 370/5, which became the team’s highest score in 50-over cricket, surpassing their previous record of 358 runs.

Jemimah became the 13th indian woman to score an ODI century, contributing significantly to India's dominant position in the match. The team’s strong batting display followed earlier half-centuries from captain Smriti Mandhana (73 off 54 balls) and opener Pratika Rawal (67 off 61 balls), who added 156 runs for the first wicket.

The Irish team, led by Gaby Lewis, needed a win to stay alive in the series after losing the first ODI by 7 wickets.
